Netizens troll Ranu Mondal for recreating viral Sinhala song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’ – Times of India

Ranu Mondal became an internet sensation after her video crooning Lata Mangeshkar’s ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai’ went viral on the internet in 2019. She underwent a massive transformation and went on to work with Himesh Reshammiya but soon she blurred out of limelight. Back in the limelight, Ranu Mondal is facing flak on social media for her rendition of viral Sinhala song ‘Manike Mage Hithe’.

The video has received close to 20 lakh views on YouTube, netizens are trolling Ranu Mondal in the comments section and calling her performance a ‘disaster’. “There’s a time when everything must be stop, and Ranu Mondal didi this is the time. My ear drums are about to burst,” wrote one user while another one commented, “My ears are bleeding after hearing asadharon song by this singer…”

‘Manike Mage Hithe’ is crooned by Sri Lankan singer Yohani and she is all set to perform in India. Speaking about the massive popularity her song her received, Yohani told IANS, “I am humbled to see the love it has received from India, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of something as incredible as this event. I am thrilled and look forward to performing live amongst my fans and connecting with them in-person.” Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Tiger Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Parineeti Chopra, Krystle D’Souza, Rannvijay Singha and Neha among others have grooved to ‘Manike Mage Hithe’.
