Speaking to ET, an official said, “Aryan was brought in to the NCB’s office in the wee hours of Sunday. He hasn’t been arrested and is being questioned. The subsequent action will depend on the medical report. NCB Mumbai has registered Crime no. Cr 94/21 in this matter. Further investigation is underway. Present probe is on how the drugs made it on the luxury cruise and if the patrons were secretly lured with drugs being onboard the cruise while making the bookings. The larger racket is being probed.”
The Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday released names of those being probed and the most prominent one among them is Aryan Khan. Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker, Gomit Chopra and Arbaaz Merchant have also been named by the NCB in the matter. According to NCB sources, the statement of the detainees will be recorded and they will be presented before the holiday court on Sunday. The investigating agency has recovered drugs like cocaine, charas, Mephedrone and Ecstasy from the cruise party. According to IANS, the NCB officials had received a tip-off about a rave party that was being planned aboard a cruise ship bound on a Mumbai-Goa voyage. To avoid detection, the NCB sleuths reportedly booked themselves on that cruise as ordinary passengers and soon found some of their co-passengers consuming drugs. The sailed cruise was ordered to turn back and return to Ballard Pier where all the passengers were offloaded along with baggage and they reportedly spend the night at the NCB office.
