Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor attend a closed-door meeting for ‘Ramayana’ – Times of India

On Saturday, two popular Bollywood hunks Hrihtik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor were spotted at the filmmaker Jack Bhangnani’s office. This led to the speculations that Bhagnani probably is planning to make a two-hero film with these stars. However, according to a report by Pinkvilla, Hrithik and Ranbir visited Namit Malhotra’s office for a closed-door meeting around the magnum opus ‘Ramayana’. Reportedly, alongside the duo, the meeting had director Nitesh Tiwari, Namit, and Madhu Mantena.

Report also suggests that this was one of the first meetings around the project. Further, Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor have been locked for the role of Raavaan and Ram respectively, while the makers are yet to finalize a star who would play Sita.

Further, talking about the movie ‘Ramayana’ in an interview with ETimes, Madhu Mantena said, “We’re actually telling it in a different manner; we are going to narrate the traditional Ramayan in all its glory. What we all revisited last year was an epic that was told years ago; the feel, and technology were different. We are now using new means to present it on a bigger scale by using the latest technology available. Making a movie on Ramayan presents us an opportunity of a lifetime to tell these stories again.”

He even spoke about the budget of the movie in the conversation and said, “Initially we didn’t have a budget in mind and even now, there is no figure. Right now we are trying to see how we can tell this epic in all its glory. But when I started the project, I had thought we can make the film for Rs 300 crore, but today, I don’t think that much will be enough to tell this story. It is a continuous process but with Allu (Aravind), Namit (Malhotra), and me collaborating, we will hopefully be successful in presenting a story like this.”
