Manoj Bajpayee performs his father’s asthi visarjan at Garh Mukteshwar in New Delhi – Times of India


Manoj Bajpayee lost his father RK Bajpayee on October 3. The actor performed his father’s asthi visarjan pooja on October 4 at Garh Mukteshwar, which is two hours from New Delhi. Aged 83, Manoj’s father was admitted to a hospital in Delhi and his condition was said to be critical. The actor had halted the shoot of his next in Kerala, to be with his ailing father.

Earlier today, the grieving actor had penned a note of gratitude, thanking everyone for their support in his moment of grief. “Thank you all for sending prayers and love on the sad demise of my father who was the sole reason and support for me to venture on such a difficult journey which got me everything that I dreamt of!! Eternally grateful to you all,” Manoj Bajpayee had tweeted.

In an earlier interview, Manoj had shared how his father had pushed him to complete his education before pursing his dream of acting. “I came from my village in Bihar to Delhi at the age of 18. I joined Delhi University. Finishing my graduation was my father’s dream. He did not want me to leave studies. So I really wanted to fulfill his dream and somehow managed to complete the course and take a degree,” Manoj had told ANI.
