
The central agency, on Thursday, sought an extension of custody of Shah Rukh Khan‘s son and seven others accused in the case. However, a Mumbai court refused to grant the agency an extension noting that “custody cannot be granted on vague grounds.”
According to a report on India Today, sources within the NCB state that the agency will “fight hard” to keep Aryan in jail. The report also mentions that the star-kid is likely to walk free today from the magistrate court, keeping in mind that no commercial quantity of drugs was recovered from him.
The same holds for co-accused Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmun Dhamecha.
Aryan and the other accused in the rave party raids aboard a ship are currently in 14 days of judicial custody. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate R.M. Nerlikar and also transferred the case for further hearing to the Special NDPS Court.
Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde and Arbaaz’s advocate Taraq K. Sayed, on Thursday, moved the court for regular bail on Friday. The hearing is set to take place this afternoon.
As far as the case is concerned, the NCB has made eighteen arrests so far. Reports also state that the agency has arrested a Nigerian national in connection with the alleged seizure of drugs. Chinedu Igwe was arrested from suburban Andheri on Wednesday, and 40 tablets of Ecstasy were found from his possession, an NCB official said.
On the same day, the agency arrested Achit Kumar from suburban Powai and a small quantity of “hydroponic weed alias multi-strain cannabis” was seized from his possession.
