Watch: Ayushmann Khurrana plays an actor in his next film ‘Action Hero’; makes announcement with a quirky animated teaser – Times of India

Ayushmann Khurrana has transformed into several characters for his films, but we have never really seen him turn into an action hero. Now, in what seems to be a delightfully offbeat sarcastic take on the genre, the actor will pack in the punches and maybe even perform some gravity-defying stunts. From what we gleaned from the teaser, it seems like his character in the film, who is an actor by profession, finds himself in a soup when he is expected to turn an action hero in real life.

Sharing the teaser, Ayushmann used a dialogue as the caption for his post and wrote, “Dikkat Bas Ek Hi Hai, Mujhe Ladne Ki Acting Aati Hai, Ladna Nahin…Dikkat Bas Ek Hi Hai, Mujhe Ladne Ki Acting Aati Hai, Ladna Nahin…”. He then went on to thank his ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan’ producers Bhushan Kumar and Aanand L Rai, who are also at the helm of this upcoming project. “Super excited for a genre-breaking collab ONCE AGAIN with

The film, written by Neeraj Yadav, will be directed by Anirudh Iyer. Speaking about taking it up to Variety, the actor said, “I absolutely loved the script of ‘Action Hero’ instantly. It’s zany, it’s fresh, it’s disruptive and it has all the trappings of cinema that I have come to be known for.”

‘Action Hero’ will be gunning for a 2022 release.
