Rajkummar Rao: I would love to do a film that has scope for me to perform martial arts – Times of India


Rajkummar Rao, with his top-notch acting skills, has come a long way in Bollywood. The method actor has been part of some critically acclaimed films like ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’, ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur – Part 2’, ‘Talaash‘, ‘Kai Po Che!’, ‘Shahid’, ‘Newton’ over the span of ten years, and today, is the torchbearer of films that are a reflection of the society.

Interestingly, not many may know that the ‘Stree’ actor, who is known to keep a low-profile in personal life, is formally trained in Taekwondo. But he has never showed off his skills on social media and neither has he got a chance to use his martial arts chops in any of his films.

When asked, the actor shares, ” I would love to do a film that has scope for me to perform martial arts. I am just waiting for the right kind of story. Importantly, the script should have a story to tell, it should not be me beating up twenty boys and also, I should connect to it, then I can really try some martial arts”.

Asked if he practices the art in his free time, he reveals, “I have been out of practice for a while now but I need to exercise that again if something interesting comes my way”.

Rajkummar Rao will next be seen in a Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal, and Ratna Pathak Shah-starrer, which releases on an OTT platform.
