naani. It’s not so much about friends as everyone is busy with their own families. The house will be beautiful and lit up as we love to do all the traditional things, and putting up diyas is one of them. We also go cracker-free, and I hope others do the same.”
Nimrat is looking forward to gorging on the mithai prepared at home. “Mithai is my favourite, so that will be there for sure! This is the perfect time to indulge without having to give an excuse, just tell yourself it’s Diwali, so you don’t need to hold back,” she says, adding, “My favourites are
rasgulla and
besan ke laddoo. It’s not cold enough for
gajar ka halwa, though.”
‘I have a leg injury, so I missed out on the annual pre-Diwali shopping’
The only downside is that Nimrat recently injured her foot, due to which moving around is a little tough for her. Nimrat shares, “It happened when I was working out. I am also moving into my new home, so maybe I was a bit overworked and dehydrated. I’m currently wearing a compression boot and using a thick stick, so you can say it’s going to be a hobbling Diwali for me. It will take about four to five weeks to get back to some form of normalcy.” The actress also missed out on the annual pre-Diwali shopping due to her injury. She says, “I missed doing the pre-Diwali shopping with my mom, but I decided to go home as I was fit to travel. At home, I love making rangolis, but I don’t know whether I will be able to do that this year.”
