‘Disco Dancer’ maker B Subhash’s wife discharged from hospital: “But she can’t get up from the bed and my money has dried up,” he says – Exclusive! – Times of India

‘Disco Dancer’ maker B Subhash’s wife Tillottimma Babbar had a problem of high blood pressure for several years. She has lost both her kidneys and is on dialysis treatment. She is also suffering from Interstitial lung disease for which she was admitted for 25 days in the ICU on a ventilator. A brief period at home and she was again hospitalised. The news on B Subhash’s front is that his wife has now gone back home. “She has been discharged,” the producer-director informed ETimes.

“But,” he said, “My wife has become immobile now. She can’t get up from the bed and walk. She talks and recognises people but chal-phir nahi sakti. The doctors say she will walk again after about 2 months. Let’s hope and pray for the best.”

Meanwhile, B Subhash’s savings have further been truncated. “My money has dried up,” he added.

For those who’ve come in late, B Subhash had told us in an exclusive interview published here on November 18 (click on the above link to read) that he is facing a severe financial crunch. “My daughter Swetha has approached many colleagues of mine from the film industry for their financial aid and support and along with their good wishes and blessings they have financial helped my wife during this difficult period. Name it, Juhi Chawla, Dimple Kapadia, Anil Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhushan Kumar, Ratan Jain and most importantly Komal Nahta and Salman Khan who helped my wife five years ago when she underwent dialysis treatments. I am grateful to all my friends who stood by me with financial aid in my very difficult time more so for the prayers and blessings my wife receives every single day from her well wishers.”

Explaining why he was hard-pressed for money, B Subhash had said, “A few of my films didn’t do well at the box office which was a very big setback for me financially and career wise. Also the dynamics of the younger generation in the industry presently has completely changed. They opt to work with cooperates, big studios, younger directors and technicians which leaves filmmakers like me in a dilemma. Nonetheless, even at the age of 77, I am very creative and have the capacity to work 24/7 as filmmaking is my passion.”

B Subhash’s daughter Swetha has registered with Ketto for crowd funding for her mother’s hospitalization and further treatments. B Subhash has put out a very humble request to all my fans, friends and well wishers to contribute and help him. Please click on the link below to donate –
