Babil Khan remembers late father Irrfan Khan with a poetic verse; writes ‘Your ashes healed the soil, now in the wind, you play’ – Times of India

Babil Khan has turned to poetry to share his feelings about the loss of his father, late Bollywood star Irrfan Khan.

On Wednesday evening, the young starkid took to his Instagram handle to share an unseen throwback photo of his parents happily posing for a selfie. His caption though, that spoke of love, loss and grief came in as a stark contrast to the happy click.

He penned a poetic verse that read, “My dreams are stirred in the smell of sand, after the last monsoon rain.
I’ve kept my wounds open for you, for I’m afraid that scars can lie and I sure have learnt to feign.

Looking for a painting in the cigarette stains between your fingertips and a memory in the fumes of butane.

You lit yourself on fire, you burned yourself away.

Your ashes healed the soil, now in the wind, you play.”

Babil made his acting debut with the OTT series ‘The Railwaymen’. The project that was announced on December 2, is a tribute to the unsung heroes of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy.

“Saluting the courage of people who saved lives 37 years back,” he said as he shared the first poster of the limited series.
