John Abraham seems to be on a new phase in his career as he has a lot of ambitious projects in the pipeline such as playing a major antagonist role in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer film ‘Pathan’ and essaying a lead role in the Bollywood remake of the Malayalam hit film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ along with a lot of other ambitious projects. Recently the actor will bankroll the upcoming Malayalam movie ‘Mike’ starring actress Anaswara Rajan and it will be John Abraham’s debut Malayalam production. ‘Pathan’ is one of the most ambitious projects of actor Shah Rukh Khan and is said to be a film that will kickstart his career and by playing an antagonist role in the movie, John Abraham could really bring back his baddie looks from his hit film ‘Dhoom’. Due to the recent mishaps, SRK had to push the shoots of his upcoming movies ‘Pathan’ and his movie with the Tamil director Atlee. Now according to reports, the shoot for ‘Pathan’ is rescheduled to start this month and as a result, John Abraham, who is playing a major role in the film got a date clash with the Bollywood remake of ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ and resulted in its postponement.
The Bollywood remake of ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ was scheduled to roll on January 2022 but that won’t happen as John Abraham will be busy with the shoots of SRK starrer ‘Pathan’ until March 2022. Earlier the Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan was approached to reprise the role of ‘Ayyappan Nair’ which was played by actor Biju Menon in the original film, but due to date clashes, Abhishek Bachchan stepped back from the project, and later actor Arjun Kapoor was selected to play the role of ‘Koshy Kurian’ which was played by actor Prithviraj in the original film. The Bollywood remake of ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ will be directed by Jagan Shakti. The story of the Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ which was directed by the late Sachy, revolved around the ego clashes of a retired havildar and a police officer and was a humongous hit and director Sachy was praised by the audience for crafting a near-perfect engaging screenplay with balanced emotions.
