Interestingly, the Malayalam and Tamil versions have found more theatrical slots in Bengaluru, to almost snub the Kannada counterpart. With the Telugu version of the film running to packed houses, the displeasure among the patrons here has only aggravated.

The Kannada dubbed version of ‘Pushpa’ earlier had three dedicated shows in the city of Bengaluru but with the trend gaining traction overnight, the count has now been dropped to two. Reportedly, the Kannada version also has concerns with its censor certification and one could expect the Friday screening to have issues because of this. It would be interesting to see how the film, in general, fares over the next few days in Karnataka, and whether or not, the ongoing issue affects its promising theatrical run.
On the other hand, Kannada cinema patrons have extended support to the Aditi Prabhudeva starrer ‘Aana’, which happens to be a homegrown film. Aditi Prabhudeva makes history with the film by becoming India’s very first female superhero – ‘Aana’ follows the rise of the central character who turns vigilante to seek justice from those who have wronged her. Reportedly, Aana’s show count has now been increased from 26 to 30 (starting Saturday, 18th December) following the ‘Boycott Pushpa‘ trend.
