‘Pushpa’ box-office collection day 4: Allu Arjun starrer breaks the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ collections in India! – Times of India

Last Friday, (December 17) saw a huge box-office clash across the country, with two big movies ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’ and Telugu dubbed film ‘Pushpa’ released on the same day.

Before the release of ‘Spiderman’, the distributors had reportedly assumed that the film will dominate the Indian box office like it used to be for other superhero movies in India. But Allu Arjun’s action thriller ‘Pushpa’ has reportedly proved the above predictions wrong.

‘Spiderman’ that was released in India a day earlier than ‘Pushpa’, had a splendid start at the box office with collecting a whopping Rs 41 crores gross on its first day. In the next two days, it reportedly minted around Rs 60 Crores and repeated the same on Sunday as well.

As per the trade pundits, Spiderman collected Rs 110.15 Crores gross in India over the first weekend, which marks the 11th Hollywood film to gross Rs 100 crores in the Indian market.

On the other hand, the Telugu film that had released on December 17 in its dubbing version across all the major film industries has reportedly grossed Rs 71 crores at the box-office on its first day despite people expecting that the movie will not do well in the Hindi belt due to its massy raw and rustic content. But the north audiences have reportedly proved the analytics wrong and flocked to the film theatres to catch ‘Pushpa’. Therefore the Hindi version has reportedly collected Rs 12 crore net in the first weekend (first 3 days).

‘Pushpa’ has so far reportedly collected over Rs 144 Crores gross during its release weekend combining all its languages and this only goes to prove that Allu Arjun’s Telugu film has performed extremely well at the domestic box-office regardless of having a stiff competition with the Hollywood superhero film Spiderman: No Way Home.
