Jacqueline Fernandez has been in the headlines after her name surfaced in a 200 crore money laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar. The conman tricked Jacqueline into believing that he was speaking from Union Home Minister Amit Shah‘s office. According to reports, he posed as a government official and called Shan Muthathil, Jacqueline’s makeup artist and pressured that the actress must connect with him. Jacqueline was initially avoiding him but after the high-profile “call”, she started talking to Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Ever since this controversy hit headlines, several mushy pictures of Jacqueline Fernandez and Sukesh Chandrasekhar had also gone viral on the internet.

In her statement, recorded before ED officials Jacqueline stated that she has been in touch with Sukesh Chandrasekhar since 2017 and that the conman had told her that he belonged to late Jayalalithaa’s family. “I have been speaking to Sukesh since February 2017. In August 2021, he was arrested, after which I never met him. He told me that he is the owner of Sun TV and from the political family of Jayalalithaa,” Jacqueline told the ED, reads the charge sheet. Jacqueline has also mentioned that her sister took a loan of $1,50,000 from Chandrasekhar and accepted that he transferred around Rs 15 lakh to the account of her brother who lives in Australia.

According to the latest development in this case, all the expensive gifts that Jacqueline received will be seized by the investigating agency. An ED source told IANS, “Jacqueline told us that she didn’t know the background of Sukesh Chandrasekhar and she was ready to cooperate with us in the process of seizing the gifts given to her by Sukesh.”
