Galani’s best friend Rajat Rawail reveals that the family will not get the body until January 4. “It’s the law of the land in UK and we can do little about it.” The cremation is likely to be held on January 6 or 7. “Again, it’s the law of the land. The crematoriums seem to be booked and full,” Rawail, who has been in frequent touch with the family in London, revealed.
Extending the conversation with Rawail, we asked him what exactly went wrong with Galani. Day 1 was not the right time to ask this question, hence we’d avoided it. Yes, we knew he had blood cancer. How did it slip downhill so soon? Rawail said that Galani had been unwell since last March. “He was in Dubai and he suddenly felt breathless. When he returned to India, he got a few tests done and learned the sad news. However, he kept it all to himself,” Rawail revealed.
But news and tide wait for no man. Galani’s close buddies Sajid Nadiadwala, Ratan Jain and Boney Kapoor got to know about it. “They and a few other friends from the industry have been in close touch with the family and trying to guide them on the best possible way forward.”
Rawail also added that Vashu Bhagnani who stays most of the time in the UK, has come forward to help in making the funeral arrangements.
“Galani’s daughter Hitika wants to become an actor and son Pratik wants to be a producer; I think he’s working on a few OTT projects too,” Rawail signed off.
