Anees Bazmee on movies getting postponed; says, ‘promotions of ‘RRR’ and ‘Jersey’ were ‘waste of money’ – Times of India

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, in a recent interview, talked about shifting the release date of movies due to rising cases of COVID in the country. Mentioning films like S S Rajamouli‘s ‘RRR’ and Shahid Kapoor‘s ‘Jersey’ had already started promotions and now, it’s all in vain.

He added that it’s a waste of money for the producers as they will have to promote the films again whenever they plan to release the movies.

Bazmee went on to add that the producers are scared to begin the promotions of their respective films in the fear that they may have to postpone the release because of the Covid cases.

He also added that the audience also loses curiosity in the film if the promotions are done again and again.

Meanwhile, Anees’ next film, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead. The film has been slated to hit the theatres in March this year. And the filmmaker hopes that the Covid situation in the country will be favourable for the release of the film in theatres by then.
