Taking to her social media handle, Neeru Bajwa has reshared a post that reads, “WaheGuru🙏🏼 Shocked … no words @sikhexpo “The viral video of the incident from Kasturba Nagar is that of a 20-year-old married Sikh woman who was kidnapped, tortured, raped and her hair cut, beaten, paraded with her face black on the streets of Delhi by a family because their son fell in love with her and killed himself when she refused consent. In video: victims chacha ji” There is additional footage of her kes being cut and her being attacked by multiple members of the boys family, including by other women and youth of the family. Everyone involved needs to be arrested. Not a single person who committed this barbaric act should be allowed to get away with this. It’s all on video. There are concerns of the Delhi police being quiet on this recently and it’s vital we keep the pressure on them and demand transparency on their actions regarding this horrific act and arrests.”
The post includes information on the incident, followed by an update that the alleged rapists have been arrested by the police.
Neeru Bajwa has always been very vocal about social taboos and shared her unfiltered thoughts and opinions. On Sunday Neeru Bajwa also shared a clip from the movie ‘Pink’, which gave out one message loud and clear – ‘No Means No’. Sharing Amitabh Bachchan’s monologue, Neeru wrote – “#nomeansno a very power full scene. I believe we were all taught “no means no” simple things we could understand the world would be a much happier and safer place 🙏🏼 #talk #conversation #rapeculture #change”
