The wedding took place in Goa last week, but fans are haven’t had enough of her dreamy wedding looks and details. To know more behind-the-scenes details of Mouni Roys’ wedding, ETimes dialed her stylist Rishika Devnani who was a part of the bride squad. She shared…

Excerpts:

Mouni’s wedding is all over the news. Can you describe the wedding look?

The first-day wedding look was a traditional South Indian saree look that was actually two sarees handpicked by Mouni herself along with designer and Mouni’s friend Anuradha Khurana. It was stitched into a lehenga saree. Mouni was extremely clear that she wanted it to be an extremely conventional look in terms of the outfit, we stuck to statement temple jewellery that we personally handpicked together.

What about the Bengali wedding look?

The Bengali wedding was a Sabyasachi lehenga that Mouni fell in love with from the get go. We accessorised it with uncut and emerald jewellery. The draping was also extremely convenient as we wanted it to look authentically Bengali.

How will you describe Mouni Roy as a bride?

Mouni has been one of the most ‘easy-breezy’ brides, ever. She was very clear on how and what she wanted to wear and what jewellery she wanted. There was no panic and she was honestly, just enjoying the process of the entire prep.

Her veil was personalised, just like Deepika Padukone‘s and Patralekhaa’s. Tell us about it.

Mouni is extremely spiritual and a firm believer of the Bhagwat Gita and spiritual chants. The inscription on the veil was extremely personal to her and just made the lehenga all about her.

How would you describe the wedding?

The wedding was extremely fun and light-hearted one, yet so beautiful and enchanting. She was surrounded by everyone she loves dearly, who all came together to celebrate this special day. Everything was immaculately planned from the decor to food. It was truly an exceptional wedding and COVID regulations were all followed through and through. They ensured everyone at the wedding was extremely safe.

Was it difficult to accommodate everything amid the omicron threat?

Yes, there were delays in deliverables and a lot got shifted to the last minute amidst the uncertainty but in the end, it worked out beautifully and safely and that’s all that mattered.

When were you informed about the wedding?

A month prior.

Did she wear anything borrowed or gifted from Suraj or the family?

Yes, they showered her with gifts but the most important being the stunning tala ( the mangalsutra) and the most gorgeous wedding ring.

Did Suraj give any inputs for Mouni’s bridal look?

He trusted her instincts. He wasn’t supposed to know what she was wearing as per the rituals to which he happily obliged.

There are reports saying that the couple might not have a reception party in Mumbai due to COVID. Do you have any updates?

Mouni Roy: Yes, unfortunately, maybe not immediately but soon enough, when it’s safe to celebrate with everyone they most definitely will have a reception in Mumbai and Bangalore.
