Anupam Kher mourns the loss of Bappi Lahiri, reveals the late singer-composer wanted him to sing – Watch video – Times of India


After Lata Mangeshkar, the entire film industry is mourning over the loss of Bollywood’s ‘Disco KingBappi Lahiri. The singer-composer passed away at a Mumbai hospital.

Messages of condolences have been pouring in from all sides for the legendary singer. Anupam Kher took to his Twitter handle to share a video message as he mourned the loss of Bappi Da.

In the video, he revealed that it was always a joy to meet Bappi Lahiri. The actor also revealed that the singer-composer would always urge him to sing. Anupam added that after Lata ji, now Bappi Da, it is like an era has faded out.

“Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. He had multiple health issues,” Dr Deepak Namjoshi told PTI.

The doctor also revealed the cause of death as Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He said, “He died due to OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) shortly before midnight.

His last song for a Bollywood film was titled ‘Bhankas’ which was a part of the soundtrack for the Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer ‘Baaghi 3’.
