While appearing in a chat show recently the acclaimed fashion designer said that whenever she had a break at her school she used to board a flight and fly to another country like England or Africa to meet up with her father who used to do cricket commentary when she was growing up. She also calls herself a traveling baby but also insists she’s now a “hardcore” Mumbai girl and can’t be in any other city for more than a few days.
While speaking about her equation with her father, Masaba had said in an earlier interview that she had deep respect and love for both her parents. She also revealed that when she was between 8 and 14, she spent some great holiday time with her father Viv Richards. Back then the cricket legend was quite active in commentary, traveling all around the world, and he would often come to India. She added she never really stayed with her dad, but with her mother Neena Gupta she would go for holidays often.
Masaba had made her acting debut last year with a semi-autobiographical series. That show also featured her mother. Sonam Nair directed it. The series revolved around Masaba’s unique family background, the different worlds she has lived in, and her personal life after divorce. Masaba and Neena were seen as the fictionalised versions of themselves.
