Why Prabhas-Kriti Sanon-Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Adipurush’ has got delayed – Exclusive! – Times of India

It was all on track one thought, as far as ‘Adipurush’ was concerned but Prabhas surprised us this afternoon by tweeting that the film is coming only in January 2023, 12th January to be precise – and thus not in August 2022 as scheduled earlier.

ETimes now gets you the reason why Adipurush is not landing in theatres this August- 11th August to be precise. A source tells us that the VFX of the film is not ready. “VFX takes time. The producers, T-Series, have an excellent product in hand. They wouldn’t like to hurry up for just the heck of it.”

Adds the source, “Well, ‘Adipurush’ is not the first film that has got delayed due to VFX. There have been many such instances in the past.”

Prabhas’ tweet read: “On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, announcing the release date. January 12, 2023.” Prabhas’ caption has confirmed that the film will see a “worldwide theatrical release in 3D.”

‘Adipurush’ is a period saga where Prabhas plays the role of Adipurush and Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist, Lankesh. Kriti Sanon essays the role of Sita.

The film is being directed by Om Raut and had gone on floors sometime in February 2021.
