Chiranjeevi moved by Indian doctor in Ukraine who refused to abandon his large cats – Times of India

The last few days have seen news do rounds of a 40-year-old Indian doctor named Giri Kumar who refused to leave Ukraine without his pet jaguar and panther.

Moved by his story, especially when he learnt that the fondness for big cats was inspired by him, Megastar Chiranjeevi took to social media to address the man and urge him to stay safe amid the on-going war waged by Russia. He wrote, “Dear Dr.Giri Kumar Patil, I am delighted and touched to learn that your love for Jaguars and Panthers was inspired by me. It is truly heartening that you are not willing to leave them behind during this unfortunate wartime and are choosing to stay back in Ukraine for the sake of care giving to your pet Panther and Jaguars. Your compassion and love for these wonderful creatures is highly admirable. (sic)”

The Acharya actor also wrote that he hopes the war in Ukraine will come to an end soon. He wrote, “I pray for your safety during this challenging period and wish the war ends soon and normalcy is restored at the earliest. Meanwhile please stay safe and look after your pets. God Bless. (sic)” Apart from the big cats, Giri is also a pet parent to three dogs, whom he’s also unwilling to leave behind. The Russia-Ukraine war has seen numerous pet parents, including Indians, return to the country with their pets in tow. Giri hails from Tanuku in Andhra Pradesh and is currently holed up in a basement with his pets to evade bombing.
