SS Rajamouli asks Sandeep Reddy Vanga if Ranbir Kapoor’s role in ‘Animal’ is violent like Shahid Kapoor in ‘Kabir Singh’; Here’s what he replied – Times of India

SS Rajamouli is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘RRR‘ with Ram Charan and Jr NTR. After a long delay due to the pandemic, the film is finally releasing in theatres on March 27. Ahead of its release, SS Rajamouli got in a conversation with ‘Kabir Singh‘ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. They discussed films, direction, Vanga’s next ‘Animal’ with Ranbir Kapoor and more!

During the conversation, Rajamouli asked Sandeep if Ranbir’s character in ‘Animal’ is violent like Shahid Kapoor‘s character in ‘Kabir Singh’. The director said, “There’s nothing similar between Ranbir’s character in Animal and Kabir Singh.”

The ‘Baahubali’ director further asked Sandeep about the film’s name (Animal). He asked, “Since you have named the film Animal, it gives a sense that Ranbir’s character would be violent. The audience is thinking like this, including me.” Sandeep replied, “There’s violence, but the characters are not the same. I used to ask my ADs if there are shades of Kabir Singh or Arjun Reddy in Animal. But no, the plot and characters are different. The only common thread between both films is that they are character-driven stories.”

‘Animal’ is slated to release on 11 August 2023. It stars Ranbir, Anil Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. The first look of the film has left everyone quite excited.
