In 2019, we read that Ajay Devgn has collaborated with his ‘Son of Sardaar’ director Ashwni Dhir for a comedy on the lines of their 2012 hit. “We (Ajay and I) are doing a film together. It will be a comedy like ‘Son of Sardaar’. Maybe it will be a ‘Son of Sardaar 2‘. All I can confirm is that, it will be about a sardar. It will be a fun family film,” said Dhir. But that didn’t happen and then the world was hit with COVID.
Things are better now on the pandemic front and filmmakers are setting up new ventures all over again. Well, Devgn too has rewound to his idea from the pre-COVID days. The stage will soon be set up for ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’.
Yes, Devgn has decided to go ahead with the second part and if possible, is looking at turning it into a franchise.
The modalities are fast being worked out. As things stand today, work is beginning to get underway on the script. And, Devgn has started to press on the accelerator.
When contacted, senior writer Robin Bhatt who helmed the writing and screenplay of the first part, confirmed and said, “We are working on ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’.”
