Exclusive! Confirmed! Plagiarism case against ‘Jersey’ is the reason for the delay in its release – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor-Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Jersey’ release has now been postponed to April 22. Close on the heels of this announcement which came yesterday morning, ETimes brought you an exclusive SCOOP on this movie.

For those who’ve come in late, a writer Rajneesh Jaiswal has filed a case against the makers, alleging that the film’s story/script is his. The matter is to be heard by Justice Chagla in Mumbai High Court, today. We then wondered if this is the reason that the film got pushed to next week and specifically raised that question in the story.

Well, we now have it that this is indeed the reason.

A top source tells us that the makers had a feeling that the case would take time in Court. And so it happened. The case was supposed to be heard in the Bombay High Court yesterday post-lunch but was deferred to today. Today too, it was not heard. It has now been deferred to tomorrow.

‘Jersey’ is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, presented by Allu Arvind and produced by Dil Raju, S. Naga Vamsi and Aman Gill.
