Sports dramas are ruling Bollywood and yet another cricket film is in the making. After bankrolling ’83, Producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri has announced a film on a popular cricket tournament. This venture will be adapted from Boria Majumdar’s book which chronicles a mega sports event headlined by Lalit Modi.

Speaking about the same, Vishnu Vardhan Induri said in a statement, “Winning the 1983 World Cup was just the tip of the iceberg. No one in the world could believe that a few years down the line India would rule the world of cricket. Almost a quarter century later came the Neil Armstrong moment of cricket.”

The film’s narrative will reportedly begin from 2007, when the said league started. It will narrate stories of glamour, controversies, scandals and high profile people involved. This tournament was an amalgamation of several Bollywood celebrities and cricket. According to a news portal, the makers of this movie are in talks with a top actor to essay the role of Lalit Modi. “The book by Boria Majumdar is a fascinating account of the creation of the world’s biggest cricketing mela and insights about the man behind the show—Lalit Modi. Elated to announce that we are adapting this amazing book into a feature film,” added Vishnu Induri.
