‘Beast’ Telugu box office collections first week: Vijay-Nelson’s film underperforms on its opening weekend as it manages to collect Rs 7 crores – Times of India

‘KGF2’ has certainly outperformed Vijay’s ‘Beast’ in Telugu due to its year-long craze whereas Vijay‘s ‘Beast’ has fallen flat due to mixed to negative reviews since its release. The film which also had poor promotions in Telugu states didn’t do well as expected and also due to the domination of Yash starrer ‘KGF: Chapter2’ which has emerged as a first choice to the moviegoers this weekend in Tollywood.

The film that managed to collect Rs close to 5 crores on its opening day dipped by a huge margin due to mixed to negative reviews surfing and KGF2 taking over the Tollywood box-office from April 14. The film has only managed to collect Rs 1.12 crores on the following day.

The film saw a lukewarm response by just collecting Rs 65 lakhs on its third day and has shown a little improvement on its fourth day reportedly collecting Rs 75 lakhs.

Therefore Total Telugu share by Vijay’s Beast in Telugu states is Rs 7 crores in its first weekend. The film reportedly needs Rs 10.5 crores to break even and emerge as a profitable venture. The above result may also fall on Vijay’s next Bilingual venture with Vamshi Paidipally which will also mark the Tollywood’s debuts of Tamil Thalapathi. The film will star Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and more details of the same will be announced soon.
