After ‘Bahubali 2’, Yash starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ becomes the second film in Bengal to cross 20-crore mark – Times of India


Yash starrer ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is all set to complete a month in theatres worldwide and it is still raking in the moolah. The action entertainer recently went past the Rs 1100 crore mark and there’s no sign of slowing down. The Prashanth Neel directorial successfully challenged several new releases in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and still stayed on top in terms of collections.

The film recently crossed another milestone in Bengal. ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ is now the second film in Bengal that has crossed the mark of 20 crores. The first one in this coveted list is SS Rajamouli directed ‘Bahubali 2’ which released in 2017. Now, as per reports, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has already earned 22.06 crores across Bengal. The craze surrounding this superhit action flick is still going strong while the film is now only days away from touching the Rs 1200-crore mark.

‘KGF: Chapter 2’, released on April 14, has been written and directed by Prashanth Neel. It stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead alongside Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, Saran and Eswari Rao were seen in supporting roles.

‘KGF: Chapter 1’ became a sleeper hit in 2018 that achieved cult status over time and after that particular film Yash’s fandom increased heavily even in Bengal.

KGF: Chapter 2 is the story of Rocky (Yash), an orphan raised in poverty and later crowned the king of a gold mine.
