Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ box office success crucial for Bollywood after Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ gets lukewarm reception – Times of India

Ranveer Singh’s social drama ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar‘ that releases this weekend is reportedly expecting an average collection of around Rs 6-7 crore nett. The film comes just a week after the release of the Hollywood superhero film ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness‘ which opened to record collections of an estimated Rs 28 crore. With the upcoming Bollywood release now depending on Saturday’s collection for numbers to pick up, boxoffiiceindia reports a downward graph in box office collections for the present content being played out on the big screen.

According to the report, Ranveer, who has had Rs 20 crore openings in the past, may depend on good word of mouth to boost collections. With this luke-warm reception, all eyes will now turn to the Kartik Aaryan starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2‘ which has now emerged as ‘one of the most important films’ for the industry.

Considering that the film is a sequel to a cult classic and is a family entertainer, trade experts are hoping that it translates to some good box office numbers. The opening day collections are the most important for the Hindi film industry. Over the past months, the industry has been jumping the gun and expecting Rs 10-12 crore nett opening day, but sadly the numbers are far from the mark.

The report states that a realistic number for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ would be an estimated Rs 8 crore nett. If the film does manage to hit the double digits, it would be considered a ‘bonus’. Although it is a horror-comedy, trade gurus will keep a close watch on the box office numbers and the advance ticket sales.

While the pressure is on for big-budget films, smaller medium films will still get decent opening day collections.

In a meantime, Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani have been going all out to promote the film across all platforms.
