Andrew Symonds passes away: Bollywood celebrities pay a tribute to the celebrated Australian all-rounder – Times of India


The untimely demise of Andrew Symonds has left his fans in shock. His admirers from Bollywood paid him an emotional tribute on social media. Farhan Akhtar wrote, “In a series of heartbreaks for Australian cricket and cricket lovers worldwide. RIP #AndrewSymonds .. a terrific competitor who on his day, could turn any game on its head.. condolences to the family.”

“This is too sad, woke up to this tragic news Andrew Symonds, fatal car accident. Prayers and condolences to his family. #RIPAndrewSymonds,” tweeted Arjun Rampal.

The 46-year-old passed away in a tragic car crash outside Townsville in Queensland state on May 14. In his career spanning over two decades, Andrew Symonds played 26 Test matches 198 One-Day Internationals for Australia. He was also a part of Australia’s world cup winning squad in 2003 and 2007. Andrew Symonds had also featured in a popular Indian reality show, which was hosted by Salman Khan. While his stint in Bollywood involved sharing the frame with Akshay Kumar in ‘Patiala House’ (2011).
