Ahmed Khan: Chaalbaaz remake is on hold, it’s a tricky project -Exclusive! – Times of India

Choreographer turned director-producer, Ahmed Khan is excited about his next offering, Om: The Battle Within featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi. Speaking to ETimes, Ahmed revealed that the teaser of the film has received a lot of appreciation. He said, “With Om, we have got Aditya Roy Kapur in the action zone and he has done a good job. Everybody will be surprised with his portrayal. It’s always fun to do something new. Aditya was a romantic hero and getting him to do action and that too so much of it has resulted in people liking it. I think that’s an achievement by itself. It feels good that we have done something new.”

Another soon-to-be offering from Ahmed is the Chaalbaaz remake, which is said to feature Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. Speaking about this film Ahmed revealed, “Chaalbaaz’s remake is in the scripting stage. We want to push this project ahead easily. There’s no plan to kickstart Chaalbaaz anytime soon, because Om is going to release soon. And after that, there will be a couple of more productions which will start soon.”

Revealing further updates about the remake of Sridevi’s iconic comedy-drama Ahmed said, “Pankaj Ji (Pankaj Parashar, director of the original Chaalbaaz) had started writing the script but then we thought let’s put this project on hold. Because Chaalbaaz is a tricky project and times are changing, every six months there’s a new style of filmmaking.”

Ahmed assures that the Chaalbaaz team is resolute about putting their best foot forward, but will do so at the opportune time.
