Abhimanyu Dassani: Happy that mom took a break from movies for her family – Times of India

She became a heartthrob after she starred opposite Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). However, ditching all the fame the film won for her, Bhagyashree took a break from films and went the family way. Between regular intervals, she did take up a few acting projects. In fact in the last two years she again made headlines for her comeback. One, with Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivii and the other starring Prabhas called Radhe Shyam.

Interestingly, the actress has made a reentry as an actor at a time when her son Abhimanyu and daughter Avantika are making waves in showbiz. As much as Abhimanyu is excited that his mom is back into action with some great projects he also confesses that he is glad that Bhagyashree quit acting and spent those days with the family instead.

He says, β€œI was just happy that way because she could be a part of my childhood by spending her time with me. We could take family vacations, she could accompany me for school gatherings and whenever I received medals she would cheer for me.”

The young actor says that it is incredible to see his mother, a senior actor, learn and unlearn at this stage of her career. He signs off saying, β€œIt is empowering to see that at one time she was at the top, yet she is being humble enough to understand and learn from the beginning after you take such a long break. It is quite inspiring to see her excitement like a student, eager to learn and understand the whole process again. It tells you to calm down and always be open towards learning. In short, be like water and just flow, my friend!”
