‘Anek’ box office collection day 1 early estimate: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer scores Rs 1.75 crore – Times of India


Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Anek’ has started off on a low note. Early estimate suggests that the movie has collected around Rs 1.75 crore nett on its opening day. While audiences attended the evening and night shows, but it does not suggest that the film will have a blockbuster score on Saturday.

This is one of the lowest opening day scores for post-pandemic releases. Reports also suggested that a few shows of ‘Anek’ had to be cancelled due to lack of audience. Ayushmann Khurrana’s last release, ‘Chadigarh Kare Aashiqui’ had raked in Rs 3 crore on its opening day but ‘Anek’ is expected to earn even less than this. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Anek’ features Ayushmann in the role of an undercover cop who take up a mission in Northeast India.

However, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ continued with its glorious run at the box office. On its second Friday at the box office, this horror entertainer score around Rs 6 crore nett. Hindi belts have welcomed the film, resulting in good business at the box office. The single screens are not contributing massively, but the multiplexes are collecting a lot of moolah. Directed by Anees Bazmee, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ takes ahead the franchise which was started in 2007 with Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’.
