‘Top Gun’ box office collection – Day 2: The Tom Cruise starrer collects Rs 4 crore – Times of India

Tom Cruise has returned to play Lt Pete Mitchell aka Maverick in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ after 36 long years. The film was shot well over in 2019, however, the release was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Now, the film has hit the theatres on May 27, 2022.

According to the BoxOfficeIndia report, the film collected Rs 4.25 crore on Saturday. The action-adventure saw a good jump of 70% which is probably the highest a major release has seen on Saturday. The total collection of the film is now Rs 9 crore.

The movie picks up the events 36 years after the first film ‘Top Gun’. In the film, Maverick returns to Top Gun institute to train the new graduates for a special mission.

Helmed by Joseph Kosinski, the film also features Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris and Val Kilmer.
