Ayushmann Khurrana and Raaj Shaandilyaa to reunite with Dream Girl 2 – Exclusive! – Times of India

Ayushmann Khurrana is set to make a grand return to the genre that has worked for him the most. Comedies like Badhaai Ho, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Dream Girl have been his career’s biggest success stories and the sequel to the latter film is in the offing. Ayushmann is set to make a return to comedy with Dream Girl 2.

Raaj Shaandilyaa, the director of super hit 2019 release Dream Girl has begun work on part 2 of the film. Shaandilyaa who is presently promoting his latest prodction Janhit Mein Jaari featuring Nushrratt Bharuccha told ETimes, “I am writing the script of the film and it may take a little while for it.”

Dream Girl, which came on the back of Ayushmann’s hits like Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho surprised everyone when it did a business of nearly Rs 200 crores. It was the story of a young man who pretends to be a woman, while talking to men over a dial-a-friend hotline.

The leading man of the Dream Girl franchise Ayushmann Khurrana just had a release in Anubhav Sinha‘s Anek and is currently working on An Action Hero with Aanand L Rai, which will be his next release. The Dream Girl sequel, like the first part, will be an out and out entertainer with a subtle social message.
