An optimistic Shahid Kapoor believes anything can happen in life – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor whose performance as a former cricketer trying to reclaim his past glory for his son earned appreciation in ‘Jersey’ says that he has learned a lot from the sports drama’s box office run. ‘Jersey‘ which released on April 22 clashed at the box office with the much-awaited actioner ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ and although Shahid’s performance was lauded by all the film itself had an underwhelming run.

Speaking to the media at a recent event the dashing actor claimed that this film will always remain close to his heart. He feels ‘Jersey’ received a lot of love but at the same time, the box office numbers show that to call it a film a success these days we have to understand how the audience feels, especially going through a difficult time due to the pandemic for the past two years. He further added that the film taught him that anything can happen in life.

Interestingly, Shahid had earlier said that there’s one dialogue in the film which will always stay with him and that is in
Arjun Talwar’s words – ‘Zindagi Lambi Nahi Badi Honi Chahiye’. He further added that he isn’t disappointed with ‘Jersey’s performance at the box office.

Directed by
Gowtham Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original, ‘Jersey’ chronicles the story of a talented but failed cricketer (Kapoor), who decides to return to the field in his late 30s driven by the desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfill his son’s wish for a jersey as a gift. Also starring
Mrunal Thakur, the film is a Hindi remake of the 2019
Telugu blockbuster of the same name.

Meanwhile, Shahid will soon make his digital debut with Raj and DK’s upcoming series ‘Farzi’.
