Sai Pallavi has now taken to Instagram to explain her stand in a video wherein she says, “This is the first time I’m giving an explanatory byte to clarify something that has been wrongly interpreted. In the interview, I was asked if I believe in the left or right ideology. I clearly stated that I’m neutral. Because I feel we should be good humans first before we identify ourselves with our beliefs and other such things. I have quoted examples from the two recent incidents that had an impact on me and left me traumatised. I had an opportunity to speak to the ‘The Kashmir Files’ director and I told him that his film disturbed me seeing the plight and genocide of the Kashmir Pandits.
I would never belittle such incidents that happened for generations. In the same way, I can also never come to terms with the mob lynching incident that took place recently during the Covid times. It has shaken me too seeing the footage. I believe violence in any form is wrong in the name of religion. I don’t think anyone has any right to take another human’s life. Being a medical graduate I believe all lives are equal and important. I hope that a day doesn’t come when a child born is scared of his/her identity. For the 14 years of my school, I chanted ‘all Indians are my brothers and sisters and it is there deep in my head that will not allow me to differentiate each other based on their culture, caste, religion, and region. I was really surprised to see my words taken completely in a different way.”
“Even some well-known personalities and web content have carried snippets of words without watching the complete interview and the truth said behind it. I wanted to thank those who stood by me as I was alone in this, also it was so heartwarming to see a lot of people raising their voices in my support. I wish you all happiness, peace, and love,” she added.
On the work front, Sai Pallavi’s performance in ‘Virata Parvam’ is being praised by both critics and public alike and she is currently busy shooting for her Tamil film ‘Gargi’.
