‘Nikamma’ crashes with Rs 1.25 crore in first weekend, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ makes total business of Rs 177 crore at the end of fifth weekend – Times of India

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ is enjoying a glorious run at the box office. The Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer horror drama has added Rs 5 crore nett to its collection in its fifth weekend. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ currently stands at a total collection of Rs 177.50 crore nett. By the end of its fifth week at the box office, the film is expected to cement its spot in the highest grosses of this year.

Anees Bazmee directed ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ has got the advantage of lack of good competition at the box office. Releases like Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Anek’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Dhaakad’ failed to compete with the popularity of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. The horror drama released on OTT on June 19. This Friday, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ may find some competition from ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’.

Last Friday release ‘Nikamma’ has failed to rake in big numbers at the box office. The film earned Rs 35-40 lakhs nett on its first day and recorded low growth over the weekend. ‘Nikamma’ has earned a total of Rs 1.25 crore at the end of its first weekend. Directed by Sabbir Khan, this entertainer stars Abhimanyu Dassani, Shirley Setia and Shilpa Shetty in lead roles. ‘Nikamma’ is an official remake of Telugu film ‘MCA – Middle Class Abbayi’.
