Sargun Mehta REACTS to Aamir Khan’s Punjabi accent in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’; says he could have done it a bit better – Times of India


Sargun Mehta recently opened up about Aamir Khan’s Punjabi accent in his upcoming film, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. The Punjabi actress feels that he could have done it a bit better.

In an interview with a news portal, Sargun said that if Aamir Khan would have spoken in pure Punjabi, nobody would have understood. The actress added that if he does a Bengali film next and he speaks too many Bengali words in his dialogues, people would not follow.

Elaborating further, Sargun stated that Aamir is not a Punjabi and he has taken up a role. Actors are supposed to take versatile roles. According to her, he could have done a bit better but whatever he has done in the film, it takes a lot to get the results. He has worked really hard, Sargun told the news portal.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is an official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film, ‘Forrest Gump’ which originally starred Tom Hanks. The Hindi remake will also star Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in key roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on August 11, 2022.

On the work front, Sargun will next be seen in ‘Mission Cinderella’ which will also star Akshay Kumar, Rakul Preet Singh, and Chandrachur Singh in lead roles. The movie is an official remake of the critically-acclaimed Tamil movie ‘Ratsasan’.
