New Delhi: Punjabi Singer Daler Mehndi has been sentenced two years in jail by the Patiala court in regards to a 2003 human-trafficking case. The sentence came out in a review hearing of the 2018 judgement that had also found Daler guilty and had ordered him two years in jail. The singer was let out on bail.
The case dates back to 2003 and a total of 31 cases have been filed against Daler Mehndi and his brother Shamsher Singh. Mehndi is convicted under sections 406, 420, 120B, 465, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Indian Passport Act.
