Rakesh Roshan and Rajesh Roshan remember Bhupinder Singh: He had a unique voice and he was full of life – Exclusive – Times of India

Veteran singer Bhupinder Singh passed away today after a battle with COVID. ETimes reached out to director-producer-actor Rajesh Roshan and his brother, music director Rajesh Roshan to record their feelings and thoughts on the passing of their film industry peer.

Rakesh Roshan wasn’t in a position to talk. He collected his thoughts and sent us an emotional message that read, “He had a unique voice and he sang from the heart. Kabhi Kisiko Mukammal Jahan Nahi Milta was one of his finest songs. Rest in peace.”

Rakesh Roshan’s younger brother, Rajesh Roshan couldn’t believe the bad news. He said, “He was one of the few singers who could put life into his songs. Very few singers can do that, but Bhupinder could always manage to do that. He sang many great songs for acclaimed music directors like SD Burman, RD Burman, Madan Mohan and even my father (music director Roshan) wanted to make him sing. He sang for me in the film Jay Vijay as well. I still listen to his song Do Deewane Shehar Mein and Hoke Majboor Mujhe. He used to be a very good guitarist. He used to play with SD Burman a lot. After SD da passed away, Bhupinder joined Pancham. I listen to Bhupinder’s songs on a daily basis. He was full of life. We will really miss him.”

Both Roshan brothers were deeply emotional after the passing of their friend and collaborator Bhupinder Singh.
