Tara Sutaria says male actors are often addressed as ‘sir’ by paparazzi whereas female actors are just called by their first names – Times of India

Tara Sutaria, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, ‘Ek Villain Returns’, recently spoke about male actors being given more respect by the paparazzi than female actors.

During a promotional interview, the actress was asked about pay parity in the industry and if male and female celebrities are not given an equal platform in a movie. Talking about the same, Tara told a news portal that it can be small things. It doesn’t need to be some huge conversation about the big things that we are doing wrong. It can be about the small things and the small differences we can make.

The actress also mentioned how male actors are often addressed as ‘sir’ by the paparazzi whereas the female actors are just called by their first names. Tara also clarified that she is not asking the photographers to address her as ‘ma’am’. According to her, all this comes from a general sense that ‘man is greater’.

The Mohit Suri directorial also stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor and Disha Patani in lead roles. The film is slated to hit the theatres on July 29, 2022.
