Yami Gautam reveals Aditya Dhar offered her ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ when she was being typecast by Bollywood – Times of India

Yami Gautam recently opened up about discussing films with her husband Aditya Dhar. The actress also recalled the time when she was being offered the same kind of roles in the films until the filmmaker gave her a different character to play in ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’.

In an interview with a news portal, Yami said that she has a habit of discussing things with people she is close with and she still does it with her parents and now with Aditya too. The actress added that she really values his perspective. According to her, Aditya has a mind, which is full of brilliant ideas and some really unique perspectives. Yami also recalled how he cast her in a film at a time when no one saw her pulling it off even though she made her debut with a film like ‘Vicky Donor’.

Elaborating further, Yami added that she was only being offered certain types of roles, but Aditya cast her in a different character. That same year ‘Bala’ happened. According to her, Aditya is someone who has a mind like that and he will never go the cliche way. He will always like to break what he’s already done and move on and have a totally different outlook.

On the work front, Yami will next be seen in ‘OMG 2’ which also stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Arun Govil.
