Ram Gopal Varma comes out in support of Ranveer Singh; says, “He will inspire a lot of men and women to become more naked in their honest expressions of their own selves” – Times of India

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh recently broke the internet with his photoshoot. The actor went nude for a magazine shoot for New York based magazine, Paper. The pics have gone viral in no time, and created quite a stir. Netizens have been praising the superstar for his photoshoot, while on other hand, some have found it absurd and cringe-worthy.

Several celebs from the film fraternity have come out in support of him and cheered for him for the bold pictures. Having said that, filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma too has come out in support for the actor.

Taking to his social media handle, RGV posted a series of tweets, expressing that Ranveer’s photoshoots are a strong message on the importance of gender equality.

Sharing a nude photoshoot of Ranveer, he wrote, “Only insipid imbeciles will be offended with these beautiful pics of @RanveerOfficial and on those hypocritically double standarded amoebic bi producted people, bent upon eradicating pleasure and happiness from the world,I request all women and gays to wish DEATH to them .”

The filmmaker further added, “All right-minded women should do a dharna in front of whoever is protesting against @RanveerOfficial‘s pics to demand their right to see men’s nude pics as much as men have the right to see women’s nude pics (sic).”

His third tweet read, “I believe that @RanveerOfficial through an expression of his naked pictures proved that he’s the ultimate torch bearing champion for women’s rights and I salute him for that (sic).”

He concluded saying, “And for sure this honest act of @RanveerOfficial will inspire a lot of men and women to become more naked in their honest expressions of their own selves and will forward the society (sic).”

Earlier, the filmmaker also spoke exclusively to ETimes about the photoshoot. He shared, “Think it’s his way of demanding justice for gender equality. If women can show off their sexy bodies why can’t men? It’s hypocritical that men are judged by a different standard. Men should have as many equal rights as women.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer’s wife Deepika Padukone too reacted to the photoshoots. Reportedly, the actress was blown away by the pictures. Apparently she was in loop on this entire shoot from the very start and she absolutely loved the concept. Deepika had seen the images before they hit the internet. The source also affirmed that, “Deepika has always supported Ranveer and has been his biggest champion. So when it came to doing something totally different, she didn’t flinch”.
