Kartik Aaryan has not hiked his fee, reveals a filmmaker working with the star – Exclusive – Times of India

That Kartik Aaryan has hiked his remuneration for his upcoming films was the big news from Bollywood yesterday. It was reported that after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the young star had decided to increase his remuneration and that he was acting pricey. Not just that, it was also reported that Kartik was recommending that the makers of Freddy opt for an OTT release.

A popular Bollywood director, who is working with Kartik on a future project spoke to ETimes on condition of anonymity and denied the reports. The director said, “Kartik is a very grounded guy in reality. He is very proud of the massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but it definitely hasn’t gone to his head. All the rumours about him hiking his fee are baseless, he is very understanding of the commerce of filmmaking. Even with our producers he has kept a balance in his ask right now.”

The film industry is full of conversations around corrections right now, which includes Bollywood stars assuming more responsibility towards their films and the budgets. In a time when producers, filmmakers and industry experts are agreeing that film stars should cut down on their fees for the sake of Bollywood’s box office prospects, Kartik’s decision to not hike his fee will be appreciated by all involved.
