The rise of OTT also disrupted the watching experience in theatres. She went on to say that after Sushant Singh Rajput’s unfortunate demise, the film industry has been painted as a ‘dark place that is only about drugs, alcohol and sex.’ She further added that Bollywood is being discredited.
Swara also added that she finds the boycott trend on social media petty and disgusting. She feels that people are blind in their hatred and are forgetting those films they are boycotting are giving livelihood to a lot of people.
On the North Vs South debate, the ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’ actress stated that only ‘RRR’, ‘Pushpa’ and ‘KGF’ have worked. She added that the South film industry is also delivering a number of movies, however, not all are working at the box office. Giving examples of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, Swara said that the slump is happening across and there are many reasons behind it.
