Suniel Shetty finally opens up about Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul’s wedding – Times of India

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have been in a steady relationship for quite some years now, and have recently moved in together. They have built a love nest in a luxurious sea-facing apartment at Mumbai’s Bandra. Fans are hoping to see their favourite couple get married, but as Athiya’s father Suniel Shetty shared it won’t be happening anytime soon.

Suniel revealed that both Rahul and Athiya are too busy with their work commitments to get married. He added that her cricketer-boyfriend has multiple tours and the wedding cannot happen in a day. And hence there is hardly any free time to get married since the wedding isn’t a one-day event. He said the couple cannot get married in just a two-day break between matches.

Responding to media, Suniel shared that the wedding will happen as soon as the kids decide. “Rahul has busy schedules, Asia Cup, World Cup, South African tour, Australia tour. The wedding will happen only when the kids get a break. It can’t happen in a day, no?”

He further added that Rahul’s tournament calender is very hectic and there’s only a 1-2 day break, so a wedding cannot happen in a such short time. The wedding will be planned when there’s time.

Athiya made her relationship with KL Rahul public at the premiere of her brother Ahan Shetty’s debut film, Tadap, in 2021. Earlier ETimes confirmed that their wedding is most likely to happen in early 2023, (January-February) until and unless Rahul and Athiya’s families have a change in plan.
