Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor (Male) Award for his performance in ’83’. The film is based on the Indian Cricket Team’s iconic world cup win in the year 1983. Ranveer played the character of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in the movie. On the other hand, Kriti Sanon grabbed the Best Actor (Female) Award for ‘Mimi’. In the film, the actress essayed the role of a woman who opts to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple.
Ranveer thanked director Kabir Khan as he received the award. He was joined by his actress-wife Deepika Padukone on stage. On the other hand, Kriti said that Pankaj Tripathi is her lucky charm and they share a ‘very special relationship’.
Meanwhile, apart from the celebs, the award night was also graced by the Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis. At the event, he said, “It’s so so great to witness Filmfare after 2 years (on the ground). A huge welcome to everyone who’s present today.”
