
In an interview with a news portal, the ace director also spoke about the success of recent pan-India films like ‘KGF 2’ and ‘RRR’. He stated that today, India is also global. Our youngsters have gone out, experienced new cultures and learnt new things. So, today they are making films that appeal to large parts of the audience in the country. They are dubbed in other languages in the country and they are being quite successful too, Sippy told Hindustan Times.
While most of the big successful films in the last couple of years have been big-scale larger-than-life dramas, Ramesh Sippy argues that all films can still work. According to him, you can still make smaller, specialised films because there is an audience for everything. He added that it all depends on the content, in the end. If that works, the film works.
The ace filmmaker also admitted that Bollywood has changed a lot in the five decades but for the better. He noted that while we continue to have films and television, there is OTT as well now. According to him, people have endless opportunities today.
