While Dulquer is getting all the love from fans, here’s his delightful problem. In an interview with The New Indian Express, he was asked that after getting praise in films like ‘Karwaan’ and ‘The Zoya Factor’ and now ‘Chup’ – why don’t people see Dulquer more often here. He responded to that and said that this is the delightful problem he has with people here. Fans closer to Bollywood are asking him why he’s not doing more films in each language as opposed to saying that they’re seeing too much of him.
He further added that in Malayalam he has the pressure to have a big opening but if he’s doing a film in Hindi or Telugu or Tamil he can do anything. He can do the kind of cinema he wants and be known as an actor. This is his weird journey but he’s loving every bit of it.
Dulquer’s previous release, ‘Sita Ramam’ has got a lot of accolades and done well at the box-office as well. But the actor further added that people still don’t understand the power and reach of great cinema. His second film, ‘Ustad Hotel’ had travelled more than he ever imagined. Even before OTT, he would go to Hyderabad and kids would tell him that they loved him in Ustad Hotel. Having said that, he added that ‘Sita Ramam’ has opened a new bunch of viewers to his filmography.
Now while ‘Chup’ is getting great reviews already, one can expect the film only to further add to Dulquer’s fan base.
